McCain tells a story about one 'winger soldier that agrees with him, and assumes that all soldiers agree with him, and that no one else's opinion matters.
Polling shows the majority of soldiers are voting against "100 years" McCain, and a majority of military moms would probably just as soon get their sons home.
It also assumes that since people have already died for the cause, we must do anything, spend anything, and send any number more soldiers to die to make sure we "win" -- because otherwise those soldier's deaths will have been dishonorable. Never mind that you can't "win" an occupation.
It's a sunk cost fallacy based on a misplaced sense of honor and duty, and a misunderstanding of the priorities a commander-in-chief is supposed to be weighing.
