Estelle Getty dead at 84

Estelle Getty, who was best known for her role as "Sophia Petrillo" with the popular show "Golden Girls" was suffering from advanced dementia.
She died at about 5:30 am Tuesday at her Hollywood Boulevard home just three days before her 85th birthday.

I just checked out S01E01 of this show because I heard it got nominated for an Emmy. I was pretty impressed. It's about people working in advertising back in the early 60s. Think Darren Steven's job in Bewitched.

I'm not sure, but I think they use real historical ad campaigns and stories and weave them into the fictional plot. This episode was all about Lucky Strike changing their ad message after the government started to crack down on them using "doctors" to say how healthy smoking is in commercials. The main character came up with "It's Toasted".

Here's a scene from a future episode where they are pitching ideas for Kodak's new slide projector.

Comedian Harvey Korman dies at 81

He's probably known best for his years on The Carol Burnett Show and the movie Blazing Saddles. He died from complications from a ruptured aortic aneurysm from four months ago.

I read that he and Tim Conway were still traveling and doing shows up until December 2007.

Twice now in the past day and a half, my Cosby Show video has been marked dead, when in fact, in isn’t. If you go to the YouTube source, the vid is fine. Yes it may take a while to load, or it may be region blocked depending on where you are (and I can't help that, I'm sorry), but as of this writing, the vid is there, trust me.
Furthermore, the YouTube submitter is "cosbyshow", and the name is Carsey Werner, the company that distributes the show. So unless you see a "video removed for terms of use violation" or something similar, it's NOT dead.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled sifting, already in progress...

We say goodbye today to one of Hollywood's legendary leading men, Charlton Heston. As manager of the Vintage Channel, I'm asking fans to post some Chuck moments for us to enjoy and promote.

Now that CBS, NBC, Comedy Central, Adult Swim, HULU, etc. are posting embeds of full episodes (usually with ads)

Should we revisit the rule about full episodes? I understand the concerns are that they were/are not stable and often removed quickly due to copyright. I guess another concern is region blocking for US only viewing, etc.

I'm not actually suggesting doint it now, but looking down the road, this is where internet video sites will be headed. I'm thinking Playlist of favorite 80s episodes. Not posting EVERY southpark episode, but maybe the best ones.
